Canadian Couple Added a Special Guest to Their Wedding to To Keep Things Crisp

This Prince Edward Island couple thought the 8-foot P.E.I. Potato Board mascot, Tate the Tater, would be a great surprise guest at their reception.

    Matthew, the groom, is a potato farmer and his bride, Amy, agreed that Tate would be a welcomed surprise at the reception.
    "It would take the lull out of the reception when people are trying to eat and there wasn't any speeches going on, she thought it'd be a great idea."

    Tate the Tater, the industry mascot for the P.E.I. Potato Board, has been at a lot of events. Though this was his first wedding, it probably won't be his last.

    The couple got married at the Elite Seed Potato Farm owned by the P.E.I. Potato Board, so getting Tate to the reception wasn't difficult.
